Jane Austen spoke to the nature lover in me and along with that she gave us women who had busy minds and a desire to think for themselves. I've always been drawn to the idyllic world of quiet and simple living and 'The Daydream' is exactly that. She is confident, content and at peace.

'The Daydream' honors my love of nature, time alone as well as my own children. Having four daughters who are biracial I have a strong desire to create paintings that reflect our family and show that underneath the skin we all have the same desires and needs, but outside we can truly admire beauty in all its forms. I think 'The Daydream' is so much more than a portrait from my imagination - she is everything I love about being a person, a mother and a woman. What do you think?
